We only use the finest ingredients in our cakes. Wherever it is possible to do so we will source our ingredients locally, organically and with fair trade in mind.
However, we will not sacrifice quality for locality, so some of our ingredients do have to travel.
Our current ingredients list includes:
Eggs from our own hens. They are not registered as organic as the cost of this is prohibitive for a small business. However, their food contains no additives, chemicals etc and they are totally free range. They like cake too!

Organic Milk
Organic Unrefined Sugar
Organic cocoa
We can also offer the option of having organic toppings on your cakes too! Our 100% natural, organic food colourings are imported by us from America as they unavailable in the UK. They offer a much softer colour than artificial food colourings and are the perfect solution if you are trying to avoid giving E numbers to your children.
Sometimes gentle colours are not enough, and you may want bright Barbie Pink cakes, or brilliant colours for your cake tower. For this reason, we also offer toppings made from traditional food colourings which contain permitted artificial colours.
All our cakes are freshly made to order for you. We never freeze our cakes.
Our vanilla cakes contain our own vanilla sugar made with real vanilla pods, and we use only Neilsen Massey vanilla extract – never essences or flavourings.
Our chocolate cakes are made with organic cocoa and our chocolate toppings use real organic chocolate – not cooking chocolate !
[did you know that cocoa is probably the most chemically sprayed and adulterated food that we eat?] eat organic !
Our lemon cakes and toppings are made with real organic, unwaxed lemons. Never lemon flavourings.
Our lavender cakes are made using our own lavender sugar made with organic English lavender – real flowers – not oils!
Raspberry swirl cakes are made with our own homemade raspberry jam, made with our homegrown raspeberries. If we dont have enough raspberries, we buy them in, but will only buy British raspberries. Usually Scottish ones as they are the best!
Finally our coffee cakes - made with organic, fairtrade coffee - not essences!
If there is a flavour that you like, that we dont do, let us know what it is and we can probably whip it up for you.
